J.P. Arencibia and Maicer Izturis hit solo homers and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Chicago White Sox 4-3 behind Mark Buehrle who was pitching against his former team for the first time.
“It was different seeing the Sox uniform in the batter’s box,” Buehrle said. “Usually it’s behind me. It’s weird rooting against those guys. I’ve rooted for them for 13 years and wanted them to win every game. This is the first game in I don’t know how long that I’m actually rooting against them.”
Buehrle pitched into the seventh, allowing two runs and nine hits. He struck out three and walked two. Casey Janssen recorded his fourth save of the season to secure the win. White Sox starter Gavin Floyd lost for the third time in 2013 and the White Sox lost for the sixth time in seven games.
