Red Sox Walk-Off On Rays, Sweep Series

Red Sox NewsMike Napoli delivered a run scoring double in the bottom of the ninth and the Boston Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 and swept the series 3-0. Andrew Bailey who blew a save opportunity in the top of the inning when Ben Zobrist doubled home Desmond Jennings got the win. Zobrist was left  stranded on second base.

Red Sox starter Ryan Dempster tossed seven innings and struck out 10 allowing just one earned run, an Evan Longoria home run in the fourth inning. Jarrod Saltalamachhia put the Red Sox on top, 2-1, with his leadoff solo home run in the fifth inning.

Rays starter Jeremy Hellickson gave up three hits, struck out nine and allowed two earned runs. The Red Sox will now travel to Cleveland to take on the Indians in a three-game series, and Tampa Bay will start a series with the Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park at Camden Yards
