The 2013 Perfect Game All-American Classic presented by Rawlings will take place on Sunday, August 11 at PETCO Park in San Diego, California, as 51 of the country’s top high school players will showcase their talents in an East-West showdown.
In last year’s Classic, 13 first-round draft picks from this year’s MLB Draft were featured, 4 of whom were selected as Top-10 picks. Despite valiant efforts by East representatives Trey Ball, Clint Frazier, and Austin Meadows, Kohl Stewart led the West in its 7-6 victory over the East in San Diego.
As was the case one year ago, this year’s Classic features some of the best prep stars in the country, many who project to be top draft picks in next year’s MLB Draft.
Alex Jackson, Jacob Gatewood, and Michael Gettys headline the class of position players, displaying raw power and pure hitting ability, while the likes of Dylan Cease, Touki Toussaint, and Tyler Kolek represent some of the better, powerful prep arms in the nation.
What follows is the complete roster for team East and team West, which is subsequently followed by an assessment of the Top 5 players who will be featured in this year’s classic.
