So much for Jake Peavy being traded by the Chicago White Sox, at least for now. After leaving his start with a rib pain and giving up 6 runs over two third innings.
An MRI showed a broken rib and he is expected to miss 4 to 6 weeks with the injury.
Peavy signed a two-year $29 million deal with the team that includes an option for 2015 and it has been speculated he would be a valuable trade chip at the upcoming trade deadline.
Peavy will be replaced in the rotation by Hector Santiago
The White Sox are currently 24-32 and seven games out of first place in the American League Central division.
