Josh Sale Suspended Indefinitely By Tampa Bay Rays

Tampa Bay rays newsThe Tampa Bay Rays decided that a proactive approach to handling prospect  Josh Sale was in order and suspended the 2010 first-round draft pick indefinitely  “conduct detrimental to organization,” according to Mark Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

Sale just returned from serving a 50 game suspension for testing positive for PED’s and  this suspension comes just a day after joining the roster of the single-A Charlotte Stone Crabs.

Sale hit .264/.391/.464 with 10 homers and 44 RBIs last season in 74 Single-A games in 2012,  albeit under the cloud of performance-enhancing drugs. Sale was signed  by the Rays in 2010 for $1.62 million.

Sale was suspended after making a post about a visit to a strip club on his Facebook page.. “Threw 50 cents at a stripper tonight. First time. Got kicked out and she got so (mad) thought she was gonna cry. Your a stripper. Be thankful.”
