Jose Bautista hit two of the five Toronto home runs today as the Blue Jays pounded the Red Sox 12-4. Red Sox starter Ryan Dempster surrendered six earned runs, seven hits and struck out six in five innings of work. Andrew Miller followed giving up three earned runs and the Blue Jays coasted the rest of the way.
For the second straight day Bautista hit second for Toronto and was 4 for 7 with two home runs and two walks.. for the season Bautista is hitting 236/ .351/ .491 with nine home runs in 20 RBI.
Bautista had three RBI, three runs scored to go along with his two bombs. “You get three or four runs ahead,” Bautista said, “that’s when some guys come out and are able to take some big hacks and we get the types of results we got today.”
Emilio Bonifacio, Edwin Encarnacion and Brett Lawrie also homered for the Blue Jays Who took two of three games from the Red Sox this weekend.
Fantasy Notes: it was a good day to have Toronto Blue Jays on your team today as they pounded out 12 hits and 12 runs. David Ortiz sat out for the Red Sox. It was a regularly scheduled day off. Ortiz is 1-for-17 after hitting .414 with four home runs and 17 RBI in his first 15 games back from the disabled list.
