The Miami Marlins have reached an agreement with shortstop Rafael Furcal on a one-year deal according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.
Furcal missed the entire 2013 season after Tommy John surgery but hit .264/.325/.346 with the Cardinals in 2012.
The deal is pending a physical and no dollar amount was released. Look for details of the financials coming soon.
The 13-year veteran, is a career .281 hitter, known for having a strong arm at short.
Several teams were said to be on on Furcal this offseason including the Mets, Pirates, Nationals, Rockies and Red Sox.
The Marlins have have Adeiny Hechavarria at shortstop and will reportedly use Furcal as their everyday second baseman.
