Texas 2 – New York 8 – Ryan Dempster gave up eight runs over six-plus innings, while David Phelps allowed two runs over five innings and Derek Lowe pitched 4 shutout innings for the save for the Yankees. Nick Swisher went 2-for-5 with a grand slam and five RBI to back the pitching of Phelps and Lowe. Eric Chavez also homered for the Yankees. David Murphy homered for the Rangers
Chicago 2 – Toronto 3 – David Cooper had a base hit in the bottom of the 11th inning and the Toronto Blue Jays walked off on the Chicago White Sox 3-2. Adam Dunn hit two home runs for the White Sox, giving him 33 on the season. Jake Peavy pitched eight strong innings giving up two runs and striking out six. Carlos Villanueva gave the Blue Jays seven strong, with one earned run and eight strikeouts
Detroit 3- Minnesota 9 – Anibal Sanchez gave up five runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings. Samuel Deduno held the Tigers to three runs on five hits and five walks over seven innings, he struck out six
