DETROIT – Mike Trout at his fourth four hit game of the season, including a home run and the Angels beat the Detroit Tigers 13-0 .
Mark Trumbo, Albert Pujols, Alberto Callaspo and Kendrys Morales all homered for the Angels in an 18 hit attack on Tigers pitching.
The Angels scored seven runs in the first two innings and combined with the shutout pitching of Garrett Richards and David Carpenter, the outcome was never in doubt.
And for what is becoming a popular refrain, the story of the night was Trout. The rookie raised his average to .335 with a four hits and now has 100 hits on the season, in 69 games. Trout is a front runner fpr AL ROY and AL MVP.

Chicago 7 – Boston 5 – Kevin Youkilis is very familiar with Fenway Park and tonight hit his first home run, a three run shot to help lead the Chicago White Sox over the Boston Red Sox 7-5 . The home run came off of former teammate John Lester in the fourth inning. Lester gave up six earned runs in four innings. Kelly Sh0ppach hit his fifth home run in the eighth inning, and Carl Crawford had three hits in his second game since being activated from the DL.
New York 6 – Toronto 1 – CC Sabathia making his first start since coming off the DL, pitched 6+ innings shut out baseball, while striking out six, and the Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays 6-1. It was the 10th victory of the season for Sabathia .
Tampa Bay 4 – Cleveland 2 – Carlos Pena hit a two-run homer in the first inning, Luke Scott and run-scoring triple in the Rays beat the Cleveland Indians 4-2 at Tropicana Field. Fernando Rodney nailed down his 27th save to preserve the victory. Matt Joyce was hitless in his return from a stint on the disabled list.
