According to multiple sources the San Francisco Giants are entertaining offers on a number of veterans, including Tim Lincecum, Hunter Pence and Javier Lopez. Keep in mind that just last week Giants general manager Brian Sabean went on record, saying :
“We’re really in neutral because of the position we’re in,” Sabean said. “When you’re (seven) games out and nine games under .500, there’s not a lot of need to be aggressive. On balance, I’m more prepared to stand pat than expect anything else happening.”
“If the right suitor came along, we would listen on some of our players,” Sabean said.
There have been calls, texts and emails back and forth, but Sabean said there haven’t been as many calls about his pending free agents as one might think. According to Jon Heyman at CBS Sports, the Giants are now listening to offers for their pending veteran free agents.
