Kuroda would work 8 innings, surrendering no runs while walking just 1 with 5 strikeouts. With the win, the New York right-hander improves to 6-2 on the season with a 1.99 ERA in 58.2 innings of work.
Following a solid 2012 season with the Yankees (his first with the club after leaving Los Angeles) in which he posted a 16-11 record with a 3.32 ERA in 33 starts, Kuroda has pitched great this season and has cemented himself as the most successful starter on the rotation.
Kuroda’s performance would help the Yankees maintain a one game lead over the Boston Red Sox in the AL East, with a 26-16 record. New York has won 7 out of their last 10 games and will face the Blue Jays on Saturday for the second game of a three-game series at home.
