Carl Crawford sat out the series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks with tightness in his right hamstring. Crawford missed three games last week with the same issue.
Crawford leads the Dodgers in home runs (5), stolen bases (6), runs scored (22) , and has a slash line of .301/.368/496.
Crawford was going to play but with a day off on Thursday the Dodgers felt like it might be a good time to give him a rest.
“Carl felt a little bit tender, it feels like something is going on. We’re just being cautious, with the off day tomorrow,” said manager Don Mattingly.
Fantasy Play: Crawford as a seven game hitting streak going and is hitting .321/.321/.643 during that time. Hamstring issues are not easy to overcome and you will need to monitor Crawford day-to-day as to his playing status for each game. Crawford will likely suffer some regression, but is still a solid fantasy outfielder. Elian Herrera may benefit from some extra playing time when Crawford is out.
