Giancarlo Stanton clutched his right hamstring just as he reached the first-base bag and began hopping on one leg in obvious pain in the process of running out a ground ball and had to leave the game against the New York Mets.
Stanton walked off the field gingerly with the assistance of trainer Sean Cunningham
Stanton is batting .227/.341/381 thus far in 2013 and hit his first home run of the season this past weekend. Stanton missed five games earlier this season with a sore shoulder, and has been plaques with hamstring injuries throughout his young career. Stanton will be evaluated further tomorrow with a trip to the DL more than likely.
