Will Middlebrooks hit three home runs and went 4-f0r 5 with four RBI to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 13-0 rout of the Toronto Blue Jays and R.A. Dickey. Mike Napoli added a two-run shot, and Jacoby Ellsbury and Daniel Nava also went deep as the Red Sox connected for six homers.
Boston scored five runs quickly in the first before Dickey could record an out. Dickey (0-2) allowed eight runs — seven earned — and 10 hits in 4 2-3 innings.
Red Sox starter Jon Lester allowed five hits inn seven shutout innings of work. He struck out six and walked none. Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista Missed the game due to a sore right ankle which he twisted in the game on Thursday night. The Red Sox are now 4-2 and sit atop the American League Eastern Division standings.
Red Sox News and Notes: Stephen Drew (concussion) is expected to be activated from the disabled list on Wednesday. David Ortiz (heels) could begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket on Thursday.
