Seattle Mariners outfielder/first baseman Logan Morrison needed five stitches to close a gash above his left eye after assaulting the Mariners dugout with his bat. The bat shattered leaving him with a laceration above his eye that required a needle and thread.
He left the game immediately.
To his credit Morrison acknowledged the incident and was upfront with his response.
You think?
Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times said Morrison “looked like a UFC fighter” after the game. A shard of maple wood struck Morrison just above his left eye, causing a green and purple knot. Morrison joked that he “got into a fight” with his bat and that, “You should see the other guy.”
Morrison came to the Mariners from the Miami Marlins in an off-season trade for right-hander Carter Capps.
