While the college baseball season is a distant memory and much of the summer showcases and tournaments are in the rearview mirror, it is an appropriate time to assess the Top 10 prospects for the 2014 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
This coming year’s draft class is a solid mixture of premier college and prep level talent, perhaps one of the better classes we have witnessed since the 2011 draft that featured the likes of Archie Bradley, Dylan Bundy, and Gerrit Cole.
Assessed on performances through either high school or college competition, summer showcases and tournaments, USA Baseball tournament play, and Cape Cod League play, the following is a compilation of the Top 10 prospects in terms of both talent level and projectability come draft day.
