Los Angeles Angels ace Jered Weaver is set to come off the disabled list Wednesday and start against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Weaver has been out with a fractured left elbow since April 8. After tossing 75 pitches in an extended spring training game last Wednesday Weaver has been deemed ready to go. ”
I think it’s a good place to put Weaver back,” manager Mike Scioscia said.
The Angels have been on a hot streak winning their last seven games to move into third place in the American League West. No official word on who will be losing their spot in the rotation, however Jerome Williams who has pitched well in Weaver’s absence could be the front runner. Veteran Joe Blanton is 1-7 with a 6.19 ERA in 10 starts and may be the odd man out.
