The Baltimore Orioles have found a solution to their recent pitching woes, calling up Kevin Gausman from Double-A Bowie who will make his first start Thursday in Toronto.
As BNS reported earlier Gausman has been solid in his time at Double-A Bowie this season.
In eight starts for Double-A Bowie this season, Gausman has posted a 3.11 ERA and solid 49/5 strikeout to walk ratio in 46.1 innings of work.
The Orioles have lost seven of their last ten games and amidst injuries to an already mediocre starting rotation, sit fourth in the AL East standings, following a successful April where the club went 16-11.
While the Orioles have held onto a winning record at 24-21, the club has been in need of a spark to rekindle their April flame and to pull within further striking distance of the AL East divisional lead in the approaching summer stretch.
