Phillies Place Roy Halladay on 15-Day DL

PhilliesAfter being rocked for nine runs by the Miami Marlins yesterday, Roy Halladay said he had been experiencing some shoulder discomfort since his start against the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 24.  Halladay will visit Dr. Lewis Yoakam for an examination later this week.

The Phillies placed the veteran right-hander on the 15 day disabled list and recalled LHP  Joe Savery from AAA Lehigh Valley.  The move is expected to be temporary for Savery as the Phillies decide who will be a replacement for Halladay in the rotation.

Fantasy Play:  While officially being placed on the 15 day disabled list, this stay on the DL for Halladay may be much longer. Halladay is 2-4 with an 8.65 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 34 1/3 innings and  it may be time for fantasy owners to cut their losses and look elsewhere for starting pitching.
