Washington Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman will play two rehab games at class a Potomac on Tuesday and Wednesday and barring any unforeseen setbacks will rejoin the team on Friday.
“Unless happens between now and Thursday,” Zimmerman said, he will be playing again Friday.
Zimmerman has been on the disabled list since last weekend with a hamstring strain. The plan calls for Zimmerman to take two at-bats on Tuesday and three on Wednesday while also playing third base.
The Nationals have gone 4-5 since Zimmerman went on the DL. Nationals prospect Anthony Rendon was called up as a primary replacement for Zimmerman and is 3 for 18 with a double and a walk.
