Correia joins a Twins team looking for starters
The Minnesota Twins have reached an agreement with right-hander Kevin Correia on a two-year deal worth $10 million.
Correia pitched for the Pirates last year to a 4.21 ERA , 1.30 WHIP and 89 strikeouts over 171 innings of work.
The Twins traded center fielder Denard Span to the Washington Nationals for prospect Alex Meyer and traded what would have been Span’s replacement, Ben Revere, to the Philadelphia Phillies for Vance Worley and Trevor May.
Correia joins Worley, Scott Diamond, Brian Duensing, Liam Hendriks, Trevor May, Cole De Vries, Kyle Gibson among others who make up a five man rotation for Minnesota in 2013.
