Today Bay reached an agreement with the Seattle Mariners on a one-year deal. The Mariners have not officially announced the signing.

Bay slowed by injuries, including multiple concussions and rib injuries play 288 games in three years with the Mets.

Bay hit .165 with eight home runs and 20 RBI last season. Bay is from British Columbia, so Seattle was a natural fit.

The team would also like to sign uber ace Felix Hernandez to a long-term extension.

Bay’s best years may have been with the Red Sox. In 2009 may hit 36 home runs and had 119 RBI, while posting a .267/.384/.537 /slash line.
