Miguel Cabrera had three hits for the Tigers
After loading the bases in the ninth inning on two base hits, Omar Infante and Miguel Cabrera and an intentional walk to Prince Fielder against Oakland reliever Grant Balfour, Don Kelly hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score Infante and the Tigers walked off with a a 5-4 victory and a commanding 2-0 lead in the American League Division Series.
Doug Fister pitched seven solid innings giving up two earned runs, striking out eight and walking to for Detroit. Cabrera had three hits including two doubles for the Tigers. Josh Reddick homered for the Athletics. Tommy Milone was strong for Oakland pitching six innings of one run ball. Yoenis Cespedes and Cliff Pennington had two hits each for Oakland.
The Tigers will start Anibal Sanchez in Game 3 Tuesday in Oakland.
