AL Recaps – Fielder Hits Two Home Runs to Lead Tigers over Orioles

Baltimore 3 – Detroit 5 – Prince Fielder him hit two home runs, had four RBI and scored two runs to lift the Detroit Tigers over the Baltimore Orioles 5-3 . Justin Verlander pitch six innings, giving up three runs and struck out six, in a no decision effort. Jose Valverde save his 23rd game of the year for the Tigers

Chicago 2 – Kansas City 4 –   Salvador Perez hit a two-run double with two outs in the seventh inning and the Kansas City Royals held on to beat the Chicago White Sox 4-2. Paul narco, who before the game came off the disabled list in a solo home run for the White Sox. Chris Sale surrendered four runs and nine hits in 6 2/3 innings and got the loss.

Texas 2 – Toronto 3 –   J.A. Happ pitched six innings of one run baseball, and struck out eight for the Blue Jays. Edwin Encarnacion smacked his 31st home run of the year off of Ranger starter Yu Darvish. Darvish struck out 10 in seven innings of work, and allowed three earned runs.

Boston 4 – New York 6 – Nick Swisher hit two home runs to lead the Yankees over the Boston Red Sox. Franklin Morales pitched into the sixth inning for Boston allowing five earned runs and six hits. Phil Hughes earned the victory for the Yankees with seven innings of work. He allowed four runs, all of them unearned and struck out four

Minnesota 3 – Seattle 5 –  Hisashi Iwakuma allowed one unearned run over seven innings. John Jaso went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer

Cleveland 4 – Oakland 6 – Josh Donaldson went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI and the A’s best the Indians 6-4. Shelly Duncan Homered for Cleveland.

Tampa Bay 12 – Los Angeles 3  _ Jered Weaver gave up 9 runs in 3 plus innings of work and the  Rays beat the Angels 12-3. B.J. Upton went 4-for-5 with a homer, a double and three RBI for Tampa Bay. James Shields  allowed three runs, seven hits and no walks in six innings while striking out eight. Ben Zobrist and Jose Molina homered for the Rays
