NL Recaps – Roy Halladay dominates Diamondbacks – First Win since May

Philadelphia Phillies NewsPHILADELPHIA – Roy Halladay surrendered just three hits over seven innings of work to earn a 3-0 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Halladay they struck out five and needed just 94 pitches to complete his seven innings.

Erik Kratz who was sketching in place of the injured Carlos Ruiz, who before the game was placed on the DL with a foot injury hit his fourth home run of the year for the Phillies.

Milwaukee 1 – St. Louis 6Adam Wainwright struck out 13 Brewers and Carlos Beltran hit his 25th home run of the season to lead the Cardinals over Milwaukee.

Houston 3 – Atlanta 2 –  Justin Maxwell hit two home runs for the Houston Astros to help the team stopped a four-game losing streak over the Braves. Maxwell finished the night 4-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI, and also stole a base. Paul Maholm pitched well in a losing effort in his Braves debut

Cincinnati 5 – Pittsburgh 4 –  Scott Rolen tripled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and the Reds won their fifth straight game 54- over the Pirates. Aroldis Chapman worked the ninth for his 25th save. James McDonald turned in a quality start in a no-decision against the Reds. Michael McKenry went 2-for-4 with a solo homer

Miami 7 – Washington 10Bryce Harper and Danny Espinosa homered for the Nationals. Adam LaRoche homered twice and now has 23 home runs for Washington. Jose Reyes has now hit safely in all 23 games since the All-Star break, going 35-for-93 (.376) with four homers, eight RBI and seven stolen bases over that span

 Chicago – Los Angeles –  Matt Kemp homered  for the Dodgers.
