CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati Reds won again. For the 20th time in their last 23 games. The Reds scored six runs in the second inning and went on to beat the San Diego Padres 9-4 .
Todd Frazier drove in three runs and hit his 13th home run of the season.
Frazier has been playing regularly since regular first baseman Joey Votto went on the DL. Jay Bruce, Scott Rolen, Zack Cozart. Miguel Cairo and Ryan Hanigan all had multiple hits for the Reds in a 13 hit attack.
Cueto gave up two home runs in the game to Cameron Maybin and Eddy Rodriguez.
Before the game, Votto took some ground balls at first base as he is nearing a rehab stint.
Manager Dusty Baker said Votto would not be ready for the weekend, but would be soon. the Reds are now 23 games over 500 with a record of 64-41 , including 34-19 at home.

Washington 3 – Philadelphia 0 – Ross Detwiler, Sean Burnett, and Tyler Clippard combined on a three-hit shutout for the Nationals. Adam LaRoche hit his 20th home run of the season. Cole Hamels struck out nine and allowed three runs in seven innings of work.
New York 9 – San Francisco 1 – Barry Zito was pounded by the Mets for seven earned runs in just over four innings. Ronny Cedeno drove in five runs for the Mets
St. Louis – Colorado – Josh Rutledge hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning for the Rockies. Lance Lynn through six solid innings for the Cardinals
Miami 1 – Atlanta 6 – Chipper Jones drove in two runs and Jason Heyward had three hits and scored two runs for the Braves.
