Manny Ramirez Breaks Up a Double Play Manny’s Way

Taiwanese baseball highlightsPlaying in Taiwan Manny Ramirez has a .347 batting average with five home runs, and eight doubles. In a classic “Manny being Manny” moment, Ramirez chose a new and innovative way for baserunner to break up a double play.

As the video shows, on a made-to-order double-play ball Ramirez slid 15 to 20 feet short of second base forcing the shortstop to track Manny down and apply the tag and he does successfully break up the double play.

Its high-fives all around Manny returns to the dugout.

Although it may been a bit unorthodox it worked. Cameras stayed on Ramirez in the dugout, the 41-year-old former major leaguer appeared a bit winded, and the Taiwanese announcers seemingly couldn’t get enough of the replay.
