AL Recaps – Loney Makes Red Sox Debut in Win over Kansas City

Kansas City 6 – Boston 8 – James Loney had game-tying base hit, and Jacoby Ellsbury drove in the go-ahead run for Boston.

Felix Doubront allowed four runs on six hits with two walks in five innings of work and took a no decision for the Red Sox. He struck out seven.

Dustin Pedroia homered and doubled to lead the Red Sox to a 8-6 win.  Pedro Ciriaco had three hits, scored twice and drove in two runs for the Red Sox

Lorenzo Cain hit a three-run homer for the Royals.

Seattle 3 – Chicago 4 –  Tyler Flowers hit the go-ahead home run and the Chicago White Sox beat the Seattle Mariners 4-3 in a rain shortened game. Kevin Millwood allowed four runs (one earned) on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings

Minnesota 6 – Texas 5  – Scott Feldman allowed six runs on 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings for the Rangers and the Twins got the victory 6-5. Ben Revere went 4-for-4 with an RBI triple for the Twins. Josh Hamilton went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI

New York 4 – Cleveland 2 – Freddy Garcia  allowed two runs and four hits in 4 2/3 innings of work, striking out six. Ubaldo Jimenez allowed three runs on eight hits in five innings the Indians. Nick Swisher went 3-for-4 with a double and RBI for the Yankees. Jason Kipnis went 3-for-5 with a double and three stolen bases for Cleveland

Los Angeles 2 – Detroit 5 – Max Scherzer  walked two and struck out nine allowing just one run in seven innings of work for the Tigers to beat the Angels 5-2. Ervin Santana allowed four runs on five hits in seven innings for Los Angeles. Prince Fielder went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer for Detroit. Kendrys Morales went 2-for-4 with a double and his 56th RBI
