St. Louis 0 – Washington 10 –  Gio  Gonzalez earned his 17th win of the season with a five hit shutout over the St. Louis Cardinals 10-0. Adam LaRocheBryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman each drove in two runs for Washington. Adam Wainwright of the cardinals lasted just 2 2/3 innings giving up six earned runs and nine hits. Ryan Zimmerman homered, doubled and drove home two runs

New York 3 – Miami 0 –  R.A. Dickey earned his 17th win of the season with a five hit shutout over the Miami Marlins 3-0 . Ike Davis hit a home run for the Mets, his 25th of the season off of Nathan Eovaldi in the seventh inning.

San Francisco 4 – Chicago 6 Alfonso Soriano and Anthony Rizzo and home runs for the Chicago Cubs as a downed the Giants 6-4. Madison Bumgarner completed just four innings of work allowing five runs, four earned while striking out three and walking two. Buster Posey had three hits and two RBI for San Francisco

San Diego 5  – Colorado 4  – Carlos Quentin homered for  and Clayton Richard pitched into the seventh inning to a 5-4 victory over Colorado

Pittsburgh 2 – Milwaukee 9 –  Aramis Ramirez and Corey Hart homered to lead Milwaukee over the Pirates. Garrett Jones homered for Pittsburgh. Jeff Karstens left a game after a third of an inning with an injury for Pittsburgh.

Cincinnati 9  – Houston 5  –  Zack Cozart and Jay Bruce homered to back up the pitching of Mike Leake and the Reds beat the Astros 9-5. Jason Castro had two hits for Houston. Brandon Phillips had three hits for Cincinnati

Philadelphia 8 – Atlanta 5John Mayberry Jr.in a three-run homer in the 10th inning and the Phillies beat the Braves 8-3. Dan Uggla, Martin Prado and Freddie Freeman homered for the Braves. Ryan Howard and Erik Kratz homered for Philadelphia
