Lester earned his first victory in six weeks, dominating the Indians.

Boston 14 – Cleveland 1Jon Lester got his first win in six weeks and the Boston Red Sox pounded Cleveland pitching for 16 hits to beat the Indians 14-1 .

Adrian Gonzalez had a two run homer and a two-run double for the Red Sox.

Carl Crawford doubled three times and had three RBI.

Lester allowed one run over six innings, walked one batter, and struck out 12.

Jacoby Ellsbury had two hits, two runs scored and two RBI for Boston.

New York 7 – Toronto 10 – Rajai Davis and Edwin Encarnacion hit a two-run homer, his 30th of the season, and the Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees and Phil Hughes 10-7 . Robinson Cano hit a two-run shot and Derek Jeter had a solo homer for New York

Kansas City 3 – Baltimore 5 –  Manny Machado  hit his third home run in four major league games in the Baltimore Orioles beat the Kansas City Royals 5 -3 . Nick Markakis doubled and homered for Baltimore. Mike Moustakas hit a solo home run for Kansas City

Oakland 3 – Chicago 7Chris Sale struck out 11 and pitched into the seventh inning and the Chicago White Sox beat the Oakland Athletics 7-3 .  A.J. Pierzynski had a two-run home run for the White Sox.  Bartolo Colon allowed six runs — five earned — and nine hits in 5 2/3 innings.

Tampa Bay 7 – Minnesota 3 – Tampa Bay scored four runs in the top of the 10th inning to break a three all tie and beat the Minnesota Twins 7-3. James Shields got a no decision after pitching seven strong innings allowing three runs on five hits. Scott Diamond struck out six and walked 2/7 innings for Minnesota.Justin Morneau went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer for the Twins

Detroit 3 – Texas 8 Josh Hamilton hit his 32nd home run and had three RBI to back the pitching of Yu Darvish. Darvish allowed six hits and walked five. Ian Kinsler drove in two runs and Elvis Andrus scored three times. Miguel Cabrera had a two-run double for the Tigers.

Seattle 4 – Los Angeles 1 – Jason Vargas pitched into the ninth-inning striking out five, walking one and allowing one run on seven hits to beat Jered Weaver and the Los Angeles Angels. Weaver allowed three runs on four hits in seven innings of work, allowing two home runs to Jesus Montero.
