NL Recaps – Brewers Zack Greinke Impressive – Bullpen Blows Big Lead

Zack Greinke Brewers NewsPHILADELPHIA – Zack Greinke  pitched seven solid innings, allowing just three hits and one run while striking out five. Greinke left the game with a five run lead, 6-1. Greinke also homered in the game.

Greinke has been the subject matter of many trade rumors the past week or so, and scouts in attendance were not let down by this performance.

Unfortunately the Brewers bullpen allowed the Philadelphia Phillies to rally for six runs in the eighth inning to beat the Brewers 7-6.

Ryan Braun hit his league-leading 27th home run in the sixth inning. Cliff Lee allowed six runs in seven innings of work and received a no decision. Carlos Ruiz drove in three runs for the Phillies.

Shane Victorino, also the subject of trade rumors scored two runs and was 1 for 3 on the night.
