Bryce Harper to Replace Stanton In All-Star Game

Bryce Harper fans can rest easy. Harper has been chosen to replace Giancarlo Stanton on the  National League roster for the 83rd All-Star game to be held in Kansas City.

Earlier we told you that Stanton would undergo surgery on his right knee, and missed the All-Star game.

Bryce HarperHarper finished third in the Final Vote balloting. Harper is enormously popular, and it was expected that he would be added to the roster at some point.

Harper now joins fellow rookie Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels for the All-Star game, adding more excitement to the game and yet another opportunity for a price Harper- Trout comparison

Harper becomes the youngest position player to be selected to the All-Star game. For the first time ever five rookies were selected to the game, TroutYu DarvishRyan Cook and Wade Miley

Harper is hitting .283 with eight home runs and 25 RBI. He is also stolen a bases. His OPS is .831. earlier today it was announced that Michael Bourn of the Atlanta Braves would replace Harper’s teammate shortstop Ian Desmond.

Desmond has been battling a strained oblique and escaping the All-Star game to give his body some much-needed rest.
