According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reliever Brandon Gomes has been placed on the disabled list with a right lat strain, and Josh Lueke has been recalled from Durham to take his place on the roster.
Lueke was acquired from the Seattle Mariners last year in a trade for catcher John Jaso and has spent the majority of his time with the Rays at the AAA level.
So far this season Lueke is 2-0 with a 0.95 ERA in 29 strikeouts in 19 innings pitched. He has recorded seven saves and held opponents to a .176 batting average against.
Fantasy Play: Not really a lot to say here. Lueke has struggled during his time at the major-league level. Joe Maddon likes to get new additions to the team acclimated rather quickly so look for Lueke to get into a game very soon perhaps tonight. If he can maintain his strikeout ratio at the major-league level he might be worth watching.
