AL Recaps – Thome Hits 610th Homer – Orioles Blast Indians

"<strongCLEVELAND – Jim Thome moved into seventh place on the all-time home run career list for home runs, with his 610th career bomb.

Thome moved past Sammy Sosa on the career list and the Orioles beat the Cleveland Indians 10-2.

Derek Lowe was ineffective for the Indians from the start. Lowe gave up nine earned runs, seven hits, five walks in three innings of work.

The outcome of the game was never in doubt as Lowe left the game after 82 pitches.

By contrast Miguel Gonzalez pitched into the seventh inning and gave up two runs for the Orioles.

Asdrubal Cabrera and Joel Hanrahan homered for the Indians.
