AL Recaps – Orioles Batter Ivan Nova and Yankees

Adam Jones NewsNEW YORK – T he New York Yankees scored five runs in the first inning, and the Baltimore Orioles answered with seven in the top of the second inning.

The Orioles went on to score 11 unanswered runs.

The Orioles had 13 hits and beat Ivan Nova and the Yankees 11-5 .  Chris Davis and Nick Markakis homered for the Orioles.

Robinson Cano hit his 23rd for the Yankees. Nova gave up nine runs on 10 hits, in five innings of work.

Markakis had three hits, and Adam Jones added two hits with two runs scored.

Derek Jeter had three hits for the Yankees. Mark Teixeira did not play for the Yankees  and nursing a sore wrist.

The Yankees have now lost four in a row and five of their last seven games.
