Straight A’s For Giants? Not Quite – Cain Effort Wasted

Meat Loaf said it best with the song, “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad,” but the San Francisco Giants were just one out away from sweeping the Oakland A’s series this weekend. With a 2-1 lead going into the ninth, Santiago Castilla gave up a three-run, walk-off dinger to A’s catcher Derek Norris as the Giants fell 4-2. Wasted was another fine effort by Matt Cain, who gave up just one run over seven innings. The Giants need to regroup from this tough loss quickly as the Los Angeles Dodgers come to the Bay Area for a three-game set beginning tomorrow.
