Barry Zito was staked to an 7-0 lead after two innings and was in cruise control throughout the night giving up just three hits in seven innings of work. This after allowing 17 runs in in last 14 1/3 innings. Zito improved his record to 6-5

The Giants pounded out 13 hits, highlighted by a two-run double by Pablo Sandoval, who finished the night withe 3 RBI. Angel Pagan and Hector Sanchez each added 2 rbi.

Game Two promises to highlight pitching as lefty Clayton Kershaw – always tough against the Giants – takes the mound against righty Ryan Vogelsong.
