Carlos Quentin was bringing about lots of interest from prospective buyers before the trade deadline.
Apparently, the San Diego Padres have decided to hold on to Quentin, for now.
The team signed Quentin to a three-year extension worth $27 million earlier today. Quentin is hitting .273/389/.525 , with nine home runs and 22 RBI.
New ownership plans to build the Padres around Quentin.
The team is also interested in in signing closer Huston Street, and feels they are in good position to do so.
next up for #padres, huston street. with quentin close to signing, have to think they have chance to get street done too
