Astros Trade Chris Johnson To D-Backs for Prospects Marc Krauss – Bobby Borchering

Houston Astros newsThe Houston Astros have lost 12 straight games, but that’s not about to deter Astros GM Jeff Luhnow from rebuilding the team from the ground up.

The Astros have been one of the busiest teams this season, and continue to trade away major league players, for minor-league prospects.

Today the Astros traded third baseman Chris Johnson to the Arizona Diamondbacks for minor-league outfielders Marc Krauss and Bobby Borchering.

Earlier this week the Diamondbacks traded third baseman Ryan Roberts to the Tampa Bay Rays.

Johnson is hitting 279/.329/.428 with eight home runs this season.

Krauss  batting line is 283/.416/.509  with 15 homers for Double-A Mobile

Borchering is batting .247/.310/.469 with 20 homers and 68 RBI between High- and Double-A.

The Astros completed trades recently that sent left-hander Wandy Rodriguez to the Pirates, outfielder Carlos Lee to the Marlins, Brett Myers to the White Sox and a 10 player trade with the Blue Jays,RHP Brandon Lyon, LHP J.A. Happ and RHP David Carpenter going to Toronto for  Francisco Cordero, OF Ben Francisco, RHP Joe Musgrove, RHP Asher Wojciechowski, LHP David Rollins, C Carlos Perez
