2012 All Star Rosters for 83rd All-Star Game

All Start GameAll the votes have been counted and the 2012 All-Star rosters for the 83rd All-Star game in Kansas City’s Kauffman Stadium on July 10 have been set.

As was expected, Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton received a record 11,073,744 votes to lead all vote getters. In the National League, San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey garnered 7,621,370 votes, to set a National League record for All-Star balloting.

The Rangers set a club record of seven players selected to play for the American League. In the National League the San Francisco Giants will have three representatives, including Buster Posey, Melky Cabrera, and Pablo Sandoval.

Voting for the Final Vote will add one additional player to each league roster. For the American League the candidates are, Jonathan Broxton, Yu DarvishErnesto Frieri, Jason Hammel, and Jake Peavy. The National League candidates are Michael Bourne, David Freese, Bryce Harper, Aaron Hill and Chipper Jones. Voting will conclude for the final vote on Thursday at 4 PM Eastern time
