The Atlanta Braves have called up prospect Joey Terdoslavich from Triple-A Gwinnett after placing Jordan Schafer on the disabled list with a right ankle contusion. Terdoslavich was hitting .318 with 18 home runs and a.926 OPS in 85 games with Triple-A Gwinnett. Terdoslavich also has 24 doubles this season.
Terdoslavich was one of the two Braves prospects selected to participate in this year’s Futures Game, which will be held at Citi Field on July 14, and was named to the 2013 AAA All-Star Game, but will be glad to trade in both for shot at the major leagues.
Terdoslavich can play both corner outfield positions and provide a switch hitter off Atlanta’s bench. The Braves will have to make a corresponding move to make room for Terdoslavich on the 40 man roster. That move has yet to be announced
