Casper Wells spent spring training with the Seattle Mariners and hit .189 with two home runs and 14 RBI in 16 games. He was designated for assignment on March 31. Wells was then claimed on waivers by the Blue Jays on April 10 and then designated for assignment on April 15.
Today the Toronto Blue Jays sent Wells to the Oakland Athletics in exchange for cash considerations.
Wells appeared in 93 games last year for Seattle hitting .228 with 10 home runs and 36 RBI. The A’s transferred Scott Sizemore to the 60 day DL in a corresponding move to open a spot on the 40 man roster for Wells. Sizemore was placed on the 15-day DL on April 10 with a sprained left knee.
