NL Recaps – Zack Greinke Strikes Out 12 Cubs

MILWAUKEE –  Zack Greinke struck out 12 Chicago Cubs in seven innings and the Milwaukee Brewers mauled the Cubs 8-0. Greinke allowed only two hits and walked two batters in his seven innings of work. Leadoff Brewers batter Norichika Aoki had three hits and scored two runs. Taylor Green homered in the eighth inning. The three run bomb was his first of the season. Greinke improved his record to 7-2.

MIAMI –  Randall Delgado and the Atlanta Braves bullpen be the Miami Marlins 2-1 on Wednesday night. In the first two games of the series, the Braves have allowed one run and seven hits. They’ve won five of their past six games. The Braves scored two runs in the fourth inning when Freddie Freeman singled to right scoring Brian McCann. Delgado then helped his own cause by singing to left scoring Dan Uggla. Craig Kimbrelpitched a perfect ninth for his 17th save of the season.

CINCINNATI – Johnny Cueto allowed six hits over 7 2/3 innings and the Cincinnati Reds knocked off the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-4. Ryan Ludwick drove in three runs with a bases-loaded double for the Reds. The Reds won for the 12th time in 17 games. Andrew McCutchen hit his 10th home run, a three-run shot in the eighth inning for the Pirates. The Pirates would add one more run in the eighth on a Neil Walker base hit.  The Reds won for the 12th time in 17 games. Aroldis Chapman pitched a perfect ninth inning for his sixth save of the season.
