Vox Royalty Corp. (NASDAQ: VOXR) Bets $13 Million on Sorby Hills

What happened

Vox Royalty Corp. (NASDAQ: VOXR) agreed to pay $13 million in cash for an effective 0.75% net smelter return royalty over the Sorby Hills silver-lead project in Western Australia. The agreement is binding, but closing still requires customary conditions and approval from Australia's Foreign Investment Review Board. Vox Royalty Corp. (NASDAQ: VOXR) expects the deal to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.

This is a royalty investment, not a plan to build the mine. Vox Royalty Corp. (NASDAQ: VOXR) supplies capital for the royalty and can receive a percentage of future mine revenue, while the project operator funds construction, runs the site and bears most operating costs. That model can produce high-margin cash flow, but it gives the royalty owner limited control over timing and execution.

Why it matters

The decisive number is 42%. Vox Royalty Corp. (NASDAQ: VOXR) reported $31.1 million of cash at June 30. Divide the $13 million purchase price by that balance, and the deal equals about 41.8% of the latest reported cash. Vox Royalty Corp. (NASDAQ: VOXR) is using cash on hand rather than issuing shares or drawing new debt, but this is still a concentrated capital-allocation decision.

The attraction is timing. The project operator targets first concentrate production in the second half of 2027 and full production in the fourth quarter. It also forecasts average annual output of roughly 2.2 million ounces of silver and 68,000 tonnes of lead over an initial 8.5-year mine life. The royalty covers reserve extensions without another acquisition payment, so successful drilling could add value.

The countercase is straightforward. Construction and ramp-up can slip, commodity prices can weaken, and Vox Royalty Corp. (NASDAQ: VOXR) does not control the mine. The company also says the project information came from public operator disclosures and was not independently verified. Paying before production means investors carry those risks before royalty revenue arrives.

What's next

First watch for regulatory approval and closing in the fourth quarter of 2026. Then watch reserve-extension assay results expected in the same quarter, construction progress and first concentrate in the second half of 2027.

The thesis strengthens if Sorby Hills closes, stays on schedule and begins paying without more capital from Vox Royalty Corp. (NASDAQ: VOXR). It weakens if approval, construction or ramp-up slips materially, or if later disclosures show the cash commitment reduced flexibility elsewhere in the portfolio.
