What happened
Venture Global, Inc. (NYSE: VG) said it entered frame agreements with GE Vernova and Baker Hughes on October 9, 2026. The power frame deal covers up to 16 power islands and related equipment, with scheduled delivery dates running through 2034 at the latest.
The company also entered a GE Grid frame agreement for power transformer and gas insulated switchgear equipment for up to 21 power island projects. Venture Global expects its first power island purchase order by the end of 2026, and purchase orders for eight of the remaining 15 power islands are expected to begin in early 2027. The company said the equipment can support LNG export projects, bolt-on expansions, or LNG-adjacent data center development projects.

Why it matters
Venture Global says the agreements support growth in its LNG business and create a path to up to 10 GW of new compute capacity over time. The company said that capacity could be used at sites it owns or controls for nearby infrastructure and data centers. That planned compute path is about 2.2 times the company's existing 4.5 gigawatts of Island Mode modular, gas-fired generation, which now spans six power islands ordered, in construction, or operating.
If Venture Global elects every order under both agreements, the aggregate amount payable would be about $17.2 billion, including reservation fees. But most of the supply still depends on later definitive reservation agreements and purchase orders. Outside those steps, neither side has binding obligations for the power islands, and the reservation windows expire in stages from October 2027 to October 2029 for the power frame agreement.

What's next
Venture Global said it will file its first permit applications this week to start the process. Purchase orders for the GE Grid equipment are expected to begin in late 2026, and the reserved GE Vernova units are expected to start in early 2027. A binding first order by the end of 2026 would show the framework is moving into execution.
The company said it would order more capacity through future reservation agreements or purchase orders based on its operational and commercial needs. It also said staged deployments depend on customer commitments, market demand, and other commercial considerations. The near-term test is whether the first orders arrive on schedule.
