Corey Hart will not be returning to the Milwaukee Brewers. The Seattle Mariners reached an agreement on a one-year deal with the free-agent first baseman/outfielder according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
Hart missed the entire 2013 season after undergoing surgery on his knees.
In 2012, the two-time All-Star hit .270/.334/.507 with 35 doubles, 30 homers and 83 RBI.
It is believed the deal for Hart is $5 million guaranteed with incentives that could push the deal to $13 million.
The Brewers thought to be the favorites for re-signing heart will now likely turn their attention to free agent James Loney or perhaps discuss a trade for the Mets’ Ike Davis. Earlier The Mariners completed a trade with the Miami Marlins for first baseman/outfielder Logan Morrison
