The Chicago Cubs reached an agreement with lefty reliever Wesley Wright on a one0year deal with $1.425 million. Wright spent last season with the Houston Astros and Tampa Bay Rays. He joined Tampa Bay via a waiver claim during the stretch drive last summer.
He had a combined 3.69 ERA in 53 2/3 innings for the two teams. He went 0-0 with a 2.92 ERA in 16 appearances for the Rays. Tampa Bay has expressed interest in bringing Wright back for 2014 after being non-tendered but the Cubs obviously had other plans.
