The Los Angeles Dodgers have reached an agreement with free agent Dan Haren on a one year $10 million deal, pending a physical. The deal includes an option for 2015 that vests with 180 innings pitched.
Haren, 33, went 10-14 with a 4.67 ERA (81 ERA+) in 169 2/3 innings for the Nationals last year. The Dodgers Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke and Hyun-Jin Ryu slotted for the first three spots n the rotatio, with Josh Beckett and Chad Billingsley set to return from surgery.
The Washington Nationals did not extend a qualifying offer to Haren making him a free agent. Haren had stated he wanted to sign with a west coast team, after leaving the Nats.
The San Francisco Giants had been in contact with Hare’s representatives before the deal withe the Dodgers was struck.
