The Baltimore Orioles and Houston Astros have agreed to a trade that will send Bud Norris to Baltimore for L.J. Hoes , left-hander Josh Hader and a 2014 Competitive Balance pick.
Norris, the 28-year-old slider specialist, has pitched to a 3.93 ERA (104 ERA+), 1.41 WHIP and 2.09 K/BB ratio this season and fills a huge need for Baltimore’s rotation.
Hoes had more walks (58) than strikeouts (56) for the Norfolk Tides and was batting .304 with a .406 on-base percentage. Against left-handers, he had a .442 on-base percentage.
He was ranked as Baltimore’s No. 6 prospect prior to the season according to Baseball America.
