The Los Angeles Dodgers reached an agreement with reliver Brian Wilson. Wilson is a three-time All-Star who led the National League with 48 saves in 2010.
The Dodgers have been seeking bullpen help, specifically an eighth-inning man who can work as a bridge to closer Kenley Jansen. Since becoming the closer on June 11, Jansen is 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA and has saved 12 of his 14 opportunities. The Dodgers started the season with Brandon League as the closer
Wilson, who has not pitched since undergoing Tommy John elbow surgery in April, 2012, after two early-season appearances with the Giants, will be sent on a minor league rehab assignment before joining the Dodgers.
He was non-tendered by the Giants last November after making $8.5 million in 2012.
